How much will the repairs be on a broken reverse?

I was driving in a 1998 Chevy Astro (AWD) and was going about 10 mph. I braked, but not to a complete stop and put it in reverse. I pressed the gas and there was a big clunk, the check engine light came on, and now there is no reverse. I am just curious on how much it will cost to repair the problem.
