What is a good, free program to use for writing (Fake) news paper articles for homework?

As the title suggests, I have been set the homework, in my highschool, of writing a news paper article, about the Bangladesh floods in 1998 (and it should be written as if 1998 were the date). Unfortuantly, I am not sure what program to use.
